Cheapest Home Security Cameras
Whether you’re looking for something to keep your house safe from intruders or want a way to watch over kids and pets, there are several affordable home security cameras you can get your hands on.
These budget cameras offer features like night vision, motion detection, two-way audio, and more. They can also be connected to a smart home hub.
1. Wyze Cam v3
The Wyze Cam v3 is a budget home security camera that offers a great feature set and works with Alexa and Google Assistant. It has motion and sound detection, free cloud storage, and a variety of smart home integrations.
The Cam v3 comes with 14 days of rolling cloud storage, and you can add more by inserting a microSD card. That card can support continuous recording, which provides a timeline you can view and scroll back through.
A paid subscription service, Wyze Cam Plus, removes the cooldown period between clips and allows you to record as long as there is motion. It also includes person, package, and vehicle detection.
You can share your camera with friends and family via the Wyze app. You’ll need to provide them with a unique login code to access your camera. Two-factor authentication is also available for added security.
2. Wyze Cam Outdoor
The Wyze Cam Outdoor is one of the cheapest wireless home security cameras I’ve seen, but it packs a lot of features. It’s rated for weather and has two-way audio, night vision, notifications for sound or movement, time-lapse video, schedule recordings and local storage on a microSD card that supports up to 32GB.
Setting up the camera is simple: plug it in and follow the prompts on the app. You can also share it with other Wyze users through the app or by email.
Wyze’s cameras are very reasonably priced and come with a free one-year warranty. It’s also easy to integrate with popular smart home ecosystems like Alexa and Google Assistant.
3. YI Dome Guard
The YI Dome Guard is a budget-friendly home security camera that packs plenty of features into an attractive package. It features a 1080p camera, panning, and motion detection, making it a great choice for anyone who wants to keep an eye on their property.
The device can be set up in seconds using the YI Home app, which is available on both iOS and Android devices. The app also offers a range of settings and features, including resolution, storage, status indicators, and firmware updates.
The camera is capable of recording up to six-second alert clips, which is enough to keep you informed about what’s happening in your house. However, if you want to save the videos longer, then you’ll need to sign up for one of YI’s cloud plans.
4. Logitech Circle 2
The Logitech Circle 2 is a great option for anyone looking to install a new smart home security camera. It’s compatible with Apple HomeKit and offers a range of features that make it worth checking out, including free cloud storage and Smart Alerts.
This model lacks some key AI features found in other smart cameras, such as person detection and motion zones. However, it also comes with a speaker/microphone duo that lets you have a short two-way chat with anyone you see in the camera’s view.
The Logitech Circle 2 is also compatible with Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa. Those voice assistants can control the camera, turning it on and off or arming/disarming it.
